By joining Jackson County Farm Bureau, you'll be able to be more involved in our organization by having the opportunity to join committees. Below are the committees that Jackson County Farm Bureau offers and a description of what each committee's focus.
The Young Leaders Committee meets monthly and is responsible for developing programs that address issues specific to farm families.
The Marketing Committee looks for opportunities to educate, surface and promote the sale of ag commodities, programs like farmers markets, grain market outlook, possible industry tours or info meetings, etc.
The Member and Public Relations Committee is responsible for maintaining and increasing Farm Bureau membership in the county. The committee meets on a time and need basis and reports to the membership each month through the county manager. The committee is responsible for assisting in coordination of any functions that promote and enhance the image of Jackson County Farm Bureau.
The Ag-in-the-Classroom committee is responsible for enhancing knowledge of agriculture among school children and teachers.
The Women's Committee is responsible for developing programs that address issues specific to farm families.
The Legislative and Local Affairs Committee is involved with local issues that affect members in the county, i.e. taxes, roads, zoning, planning, landfills, and other issues of local concern. The committee is charged with evaluating issues that affect farmers through legislative and regulation. The committee is to inform the Board of important legislative and regulatory news. The committee develops and maintains working relationships with local, state, and national elected and appointed officials to further these objectives.
